Indian currency worth Tk 10m seized

Customs Intelligence officials seized Indian currency worth Tk 10 million at Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport in the city on Monday. Contacted, Assistant Commissioner (Customs) Jewela Khanam said a passenger landed at the airport from a flight of Emirates Airlines from Dubai at about 8:40pm. When he was about to leave the customs lounge with his goods, customs officials scanned his carton and detected the Indian Rs 10m, she said. At that time, the passenger fled the scene. The customs officials then seized the Indian currency notes, AC Jewela said, adding case was filed, according to UNB.
