Indian firm to build 150 mw power plant

Bangladesh Power Development Board has approved a proposal by an Indian energy firm to install a 150 megawatt power plant, a senior official said Wednesday. "The proposal will now be sent to government purchase committee to take final decision," said M. Fouzul Kabir Khan, secretary of the power division of the ministry of power, energy and mineral resources. It will be installed in Sylhet area with a cost of more than $70 million by the Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd , Kabir said. —Reuters
