Indian govt relaxes rice export ban, but customs defiant

JESSORE, Mar 15: The Indian customs at different ports on its side did not allow any rice-laden trucks to enter Bangladesh Saturday, although the finance ministry of the central government of India relaxed ban on some particular consignments of rice. India relaxed ban on export of some particular consignments of rice as the exporters of India met with higher authority of the concerned ministry on March 13. However, no rice-laden trucks entered the Benapole landport Saturday. —Our Correspondent
