Indian markets sluggish in late-noon trades

MUMBAI, Apr 12 (Business Standard): The markets are trading weak, with banking and auto stocks being the main culprits. The Sensex is quoting at 17848, lower by 84 points and the Nifty is at 5336,down by 25 pointts.
Tata Motors has weakened by 3 per cent at Rs 784, while L&T has shed 2.2 per cent at Rs 1605 and Sterlite has lost 1.9 per cent at Rs 868. The banking sector has edged lower; ICICI Bank, SBI and HDFC have shed around one per cent each.
