Indian medicines, cosmetics seized

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized a large quantity of Indian medicines and cosmetics in Alamdanga upazila in Chuadanga on Monday. Acting on secret information, a team, led by Lieutenant Colonel Maniruzzaman, commanding officer of BGB Battalion-6, intercepted a Kushtia-bound covered van at Arpara and seized the contraband Indian medicines and cosmetics after searching the vehicle. However, the smugglers managed to escape sensing the presence of BGB. Later, the seized goods, worth about Tk 1.9 million were deposited to Darshana Custom’s office, according to UNB.
