Indian Minister Munde dies in road accident

Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde died in a road accident in New Delhi on Tuesday. Munde death has deprived Prime Minister Narendra Modi of a senior ally just 9 days after he took office. Munde, 64, was injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles on his way to the capital’s airport and died later in Safdarjung Hospital. ‘An accident took place in the morning, following which he was taken to the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Doctors declared him dead at about 8:00am,’ Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said, according to Reuters.
