Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi paid respects to the martyrs of Bangladesh's War of Libe-ration against Pakistan after he arrived in Dhaka on a two-day state visit, report agencies.
He went to the National Memorial at Savar at around 11:25 am on Saturday.

He then signed the visitors' book and planted an 'Uday Padma' at the sapling point of the memorial.
Mr Narendra Modi has paid respects to the Father of the Nation at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum and visited his house at Dhanmondi 32. This is the house where Bangladesh's founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was assassinated along with his family members on the fateful night of Aug 15, 1975.
Radwan Mujib Siddiq, son of Sheikh Rehana, received Modi at the museum when he arrived after 12:00 pm. Modi placed wreath at the Bangabandhu's portrait, and then observed a minute of silence.
Mr Narendra Modi has termed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman an icon of democracy, a towering personality and a great friend of India.
"Saluting an icon of democracy, a towering personality and a great friend of India, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman," he tweeted after paying respect to Father of the Nation.
