A 14-member high-level Indian delegation, led by Indian Power Secretary PK Sinha, arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday to attend a meeting of the joint steering committee (JSC) and joint working committee meeting on power sector. Official sources said the JSC meeting will be held on Thursday. Prior to the JSC, a working committee meeting of both sides will take place on Wednesday. Officials said during the JSC and working committee meetings, the two sides are expected to review the current status of cooperation in the power sector and further intensify efforts to expand such cooperation. However, a joint delegation of both the countries, comprising the JSC members, will visit 1320 MW Rampal coal-fired power plant project site near the Sundarbans forest on Wednesday. The project is now being developed jointly by Dhaka and New Delhi, according to a news agency.
