Indictment hearing against Faridpur AL leaders May 19

A Dhaka court has set May 19 for hearing in a money laundering case lodged against sacked Faridpur city unit Awami League general secretary Sazzad Hossain Barkat, his brother Imtiyaj Hasan Rubel and eight others, reports BSS.
Judge Mohammad Nazrul Islam of Dhaka Special Judge's Court-10 fixed the date on Sunday as the hearing held in the presence of the investigating officer of the case was not completed.
Earlier on March 7, the lawyer of the accused pleaded not guilty on behalf of the accused.
On September 30, 2021, a Dhaka court accepted the charge sheet against nine.
After accepting the charge sheet, the court also issued arrest warrant against other accused of the case--Khandaker Mohtesam Hossain Babar, AHM Fuad, Fahad bin Wazed Fahim alias Fahim, Kamrul Hasan David, Mohammad Ali Minar and Tariqul Islam alias Nasim since they were shown as fugitive accused in the charge sheet.
