Indictment hearing in graft case against Samrat Aug 28

A Dhaka court on Thursday set August 28 for holding hearing on charge framing in a graft case against former Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat, reports BSS.
Thursday was fixed for holding hearing on the matter, but Judge Manjurul Alam of Dhaka Special Judge Court 6 deferred the date, allowing a time plea of the accused. The court also extended the bail term of Samrat till the next date of hearing.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on November 12, 2019, filed the case against Samrat for amassing illegal wealth. The anti-graft body filed charge-sheet on November 26, 2020, and on March 22, 2022, the court took the charge-sheet into cognizance.
