Indiscriminate felling of trees

Over the past few months, we have been observing indiscriminate felling of trees in the south-west region of the country. This is hugely embarrassing when Bangladesh is claiming aid and compensation from the developed countries on the ground of global warming. The main culprits behind the scene are reportedly some politically connected persons.
The axing of trees along the coastal belt may prove dangerous for the vulnerable inhabitants of this cyclone-prone area. The government should promptly and decisively act to stop forest-grabbing.
