Indo-Bangla joint land survey resumes today

SYLHET, May 17: Bangladesh and India resumes today (Wednesday) land survey of disputed frontier of Jaintapur and Goainghat upazilas. Officials said the joint team had undertaken survey at Dibir Haor in Jaintapur and Padua in Goainghat Upazila twice in December and April last but could not carry out the task in the face of objections by Indian BSF. Senior Land officials of the two countries had meetings at Dawki on Indian side and at Tamabil on Bangladesh side and have decided to complete the demarcation of the boundary with the spirit of good neighbourly relationship. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) of Sylhet Shamim Al Razee expressed hope that demarcation of boundary would be finalised on completion of survey by the joint team. - UNB
