Thursday, 10 July 2014

Indonesian stocks jumped more than 2.5 per cent at the open on Thursday after unofficial tallies showed Jakarta governor Joko Widodo leading rival Prabowo Subianto in a race to lead Southeast Asia’s biggest economy. The Jakarta benchmark index rose 2.54 per cent, or 127.84 points to 5,152.55. Both candidates declared victory on Wednesday in Indonesia’s tightest and most divisive race for the presidency since 1998, according to AFP.
