JAKARTA, Sept 6 (AFP): Indonesia's state energy firm Pertamina and state nickel miner Antam are to sign joint projects with Russia's Lukoil Overseas and Rusal worth 5.5 billion dollars today, a minister said.
Energy and mineral resources minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said the agreements would be witnessed by visiting Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Indonesian counterpart Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Yusgiantoro said Pertamina and Lukoil will invest 1.5 billion dollars for deep water oil-and-gas exploration projects in four blocks.
Antam and Russia's Rusal will meanwhile sign a memorandum of understanding to set up a joint venture that will manage a bauxite mining project in Tayan, West Kalimantan. The venture will also process bauxite into alumina.
