Industrial park on bank of Shanka river to be set up

MA Latif, newly elected president of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Wednesday said he will take steps to set up a specialised industrial park on the bank of Shanka river during his two year term.
He said this while was addressing the annual general meeting (AGM) of CCCI held at its conference room Wednesday.
MA Latif also said he will take initiatives to install a power plant at Ragnunia area using the waste of Karnaphuly Hydro power project. He said the project might be implemented under joint venture.
CCCI president said he will set up a cluster zone for the shoe factories and information technology in Chittagong.
Addressing the AGM, immediate past president of the CCCI Saifuzzaman Chowdhury urged the government to form Chittagong Development Coordination Cell for the development of the port city.
