Industries Secy exchanges views with Joypurhat sugarcane farmers

JOYPURHAT, Nov 5: Industries Secretary Dewan Zakir Hossain exchanged views with sugarcane farmers in the district.
Joypurhat Sugar Mill (JSM) organised the function at its auditorium Wednesday.
Chaired by JSM Managing Director Md Mofakkharul Islam, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Joint Secretary and BSFIC (business) Director Parimal Chandra Saha, General Manager (Agriculture) Habibur Rahman, ADM Abdul Khaleqe, DGM Mostafa Kamal, president of Joypurhat Sugarcane farmers Association Abu Taleb Chowdhury, Secretary Khaja Najimuddin, Senior vice-president Layek Ali Bakul.
The Industries Secretary said the government had increased the sugarcane price to encourage the farmers grow more sugarcane.
He also spoke about the total condition of the sugar mill.
