Infighting foils Ctg BCL's confce

CHITTAGONG, Feb 27: An internal clash marred the conference of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) north unit in the port city on Tuesday.
The infighting also left scores of activists of the ruling Awami League's student wing injured.
Sources said the conference was being held at the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh(IEB), Chittagong centre, with participation of AL presidium member and Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain as the chief guest and Dr Hassan Mahmud MP, ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury MP and Chittagong north district Awami League general secretary and administrator of Chittagong Jila Parishad MA Salam as special guests.
Around 12.15 am, a crude bomb exploded at the IEB Chittagong Centre compound as BCL Chittagong north district president Sakib Hossain was addressing the conference.
Some BCL activists suffered injuries in a rush to get out of the crowd. Five of the injured were taken to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Engineer Mosharraf Hossain said the attackers did not belong to the BCL. They are infiltrators.
