Initiatives to be taken for establishing Ctg as commercial capital

Chittagong, Apr 18: Proper initiatives will be undertaken for establishing Chittagong as a full-fledged commercial capital restoring its previous heritage in trade and commerce under overall supervision of the leaders of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and the entrepreneurs.
Nurul Islam MP said this while exchanging views with the leaders of Khatunganj, Asadganj and Chaktai business organisations at Khatunganj Trade and Industries Association office in the city Wednesday.
He sought co-operation of all concerned including businessmen and industrialists for implementing his plan for reshaping Chittagong up to the desired target.
The business leaders expressed their resentment over the deprivation of the local entrepreneurs despite Chittagong's major contribution to the national budget.
The opinion sharing meeting was presided over by the Khatunganj Trade and Industries Association Senior Vice-President Taiyabur Rahman, which was addressed among others by the association General Secretary and Chittagong Chamber Director Syed Saghir Ahmad, Vice-President Mahbubul Alam Talukder, Chamber Director Alamgir Pervez, local councillor Jamal Hossain, business leaders MM Harunur Rashid and Ahmed Rashed.
