Injured city AL leader dies at DMCH

A city unit leader of Awami League, who sustained injuries in an attack by miscreants in the Azimpur area on Friday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) early Sunday, reports UNB.  
The deceased was identified as Shahab Uddin Shabu, 45, president of ward-26 of AL Dhaka city unit and son of late Abdul Jalil of Kashmiri Toli Lane in Lalbagh.
Shabu, who was undergoing treatment at the emergency unit of the DMCH, succumbed to his injuries at about 6:15 am, said inspector Mozammel Haque, in-charge of the DMCH police camp.  Shabu came under attack by a group of miscreants near Chhapra Mosque in the Azimpur area on Friday noon.
The miscreants hacked Shabu with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured. Later, he was admitted to the DMCH.
