Injury rules out Mathews of Tri-nation series

Sunday, 21 January 2018

Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has been ruled out of the ongoing Tri-nation series in Bangladesh due to a right hamstring injury. Mathews had been troubled by the injury since January 2017 and it flared up again during Sri Lanka's 12-run defeat to Zimbabwe in their first game of the series. The problem kept him out of Sri Lanka's game against Bangladesh - which they lost too - and it has now been confirmed that he will not take any further part in the competition, reports Cricbuzz.
"Angelo [Mathews] is going back tomorrow to do rehab in Sri Lanka."
