Inmate dies in Satkhira jail

A man serving imprisonment in Satkhira jail in narcotics case died on the way to jail hospital on Sunday. The dead is Rafiqul Islam, son of late Hossain Ali of Keragachchi village in Kolaroa Upazila of Satkhira district. Superintendent of the district jail Abu Taleb said Rafiqul Islam felt pain in the chest in the morning. Jail sources said the condition of the inmate deteriorated and he became seriously ill around 11:30am. He was rushed to the jail hospital. Doctor declared him dead in the afternoon, they said. Rafiqul Islam was arrested Rafiqul in possession of drugs on August 21, 2014, and a mobile court sentenced him to 2 yeas’ rigorous imprisonment, according to a news agency.
