Inqilab News Editor Robi denied bail

A Dhaka Cyber Tribunal has turned down bail petition of The Daily Inqilab’s News Editor Robiullah Robi in a case filed under the Information and Communication Technology Act. Judge KM Shamsul Haque passed the order following hearing over the bail plea on Wednesday afternoon. On January 16, police raided Inqilab’s RK Mission Road office, picked up Robiullah Robi, seized various items and sealed off the printing press of the vernacular newspaper. The raid was conducted after a case was filed under the ICT act for attacking religious sentiment, creating chaos in administration and violating ICT act, according to a news agency.
