Intake of less salt, exercise can reduce high blood pressure

RANGPUR, Dec 13 (BSS): Speakers at a function said increased salt intake and high blood pressure are silent killers.
They suggested for intake of less salt and walking regularly to reduce the risks of heart attacks and brain haemorrhages.
They said this Saturday while providing free medicare services to patients at a camp organised by Rangpur Hypertension Centre (RHC), a subsidiary charitable organisation of Dr Wasim - Waleda Multipurpose Welfare Foundation.
They emphasised the need for keeping blood pressure within safe range by taking medicines and appropriate amount of nutritious food side by side with physical exercise to lead a normal life and avoid heart attacks, brain stroke, kidney ailments and other diseases.
The free medical camp was arranged with the assistance of Rangpur Sahitya Sangskritik Parishad at the week long fair organised on the occasion of 12th anniversary of cultural organisation 'Rangpur Sound Touch'.
The main objectives of the camp were to create awareness about the severe consequences of hypertension, excessive consumption of salt and uncontrolled high blood pressure.
Founding President of RHC Professor Dr Mohammed Zakir Hossain, Dr Mofizul Islam Mantu, Dr M Mahbub Hossain, Dr Shah M Sarwar Jahan, Dr M Zimma Hossain, Dr Abdus Baset, Dr M Mahfuzar Rahman, Dr Nazmul Islam, Dr Afzal Hossain, Dr Pinaki, Dr Poppel and Dr Ashfi, provided the free medicare services to the heart patients.
