FE Report | Sunday, 27 April 2014
The National Intellectual Property Day 2014 will be observed across the country today (Sunday), said a press release.
The Intellectual Property Association of Bangladesh (IPAB) has chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the day.
According to the programmes, the IPAB will hold a rally at Aparajeyo Bangla of Dhaka University at 3pm today and make an announcement titled 'Stop IPR Violation, Build the Nation; Save Film Industry' for creating public awareness about the issue.
The theme of this year's global Intellectual Property Day is 'Movies: A Global Passion'. Film industry has significant impact on the national economic development, whereas our local film industry is suffering for many years. A large number of actresses, actors, personnel and linkage industries are about to die in terms of ensuring innovation, the release added.
In order to save film industry, the famous Bangladeshi actor MA Jalil Ananta has come forward as Brand Ambassador of IPAB to create awareness against piracy and has requested the audience to go to the cinema halls.
On a similar note, IPAB will also produce a documentary on Intellectual Property protection to create awareness on both local and international issues. The organisation also plans to distribute the documentary across all the major cinema halls in order to cement awareness and inspire positive changes towards not just IP violations, but all types of IP infringements as well.
Brand Ambassador of IPAB actor MA Jalil Ananta has requested all the well-wishers and stakeholders of film industry to attend at the novel event.
