Inter-college cultural competition held

Inter-college cultural competition titled 'National University Star Hunt' was simultaneously held in two divisional cities Saturday.
Competitions of Barisal and Sylhet divisions were held respectively on the premises of BM College and MC College. Some 75 contestants from the two divisions took part at the seven events of the competition.
Barisal division competition started at 10 am at the teachers' auditorium of BM College. College principal Seraj Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the event.
NU dean Abdul Hamid, college inspector Abdur Rashid and divisional convener of the competition Abdul Kuddus, among others, were present on the occasion.
In the competition, 23 contestants participated in the seven events while five in debate, one in hard dance, three in Tagore songs, three in Nazrul songs, four in patriotic songs, four in folk songs and three in modern songs.
Competition of Sylhet division was organised at the MC College auditorium. College principal Azizul Islam launched the competition in the morning.
Some 52 competitors took part in the contest from this division -- three in debate, ten in folk songs, nine in modern songs, four in hard dance, eight in Tagore songs, eight in Nazrul songs and ten in patriotic songs.
Competitions of Dhaka and Chittagong divisions were held last week while the contests in Rajshahi and Khulna divisions will be held on August 18.
Competition at national level will be held with the winners from different events at six divisions of the country.
