Inter-college rugby begins today

The Eastern University Inter-College Rugby competition begins today (Thursday) on the Paltan ground in the city, reports BSS.
Former national cricket team skipper Rokibul Hasan will formally inaugurate the meet as the chief guest at 11:00 am while vice-chancellor of Easter University Prof Dr Abdul Mannan will be present as the special guest.
A total of 15 college teams, split into four groups, are taking part in the competition, sponsored by Easter University and organised by Bangladesh Rugby Federation (BRF).
A press conference was held Wednesday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium conference room to give all the details of the meet.
BRF General Secretary Moushum Ali, Joint Secretary Syed Ahmed and member Dwin Islam were present, among others, on the occasion.
Participating teams are:
Group A: Adamji Cantonment College, Louhojong Degree College and Madartek School & College.
Group B: Saint Joseph Higher Secondary College, Doctor Malika College, Dhaka Commerce College and Government Madrasah-e-Alia College.
Group C: Cambrian College, Dhaka Imperial College, Kabi Nazrul Government College and Yaqub Ali School & College.
Group D: Dhaka College, Scholars School & College, Gazipur Cantonment College and Government Bangla College.
