Inter-district Women's V'ball advances to quarterfinals

Eight teams --Pabna, Narail, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Rajbari, Kishoregani, Khulna and Khagrachhari--reached the quarterfinals of the 12-team Popular Life Insurance 17th Inter-District Women's Volleyball Tournament eliminating their rivals on Tuesday at Shaheed Nur Hossain National Volleyball Stadium in city's Purana Paltan, reports UNB.
In the quarterfinals today (Wednesday), Pabna will play Narail, Rajshahi will meet Chattogram both at 3:00 pm, while Rajbari will face Kishoreganj and Khulna will encounter Khagrachhari, both at 4:30 pm.
Earlier, in the day's group matches, Chattogram beat Kushtia by 3-1 sets, Narail defeated Jhenaidah 3-0, Khagrachhari outplayed Netrokona 3-0, Khulna defeated Kishoreganj 3-0, Pabna defeated Kushtia 3-0, Rajshahi beat Narail 3-0, Rajbari defeated Khagrachhari 3-0 while Kishoreganj beat Gazipur 3-1.
Twelve district teams, split into four groups, took part in the first phase and top two teams from each of the groups were qualified for the quarterfinals.
