Intercity trains to ply up to Chilahati from Wednesday

NILPHAMARI, Jan 25: All intercity trains including Nilshagar, Borendra, Simanto and others are to ply up to Chilahati, the last railway station of Chilahati to Dhaka and Chilahati to Khulna rail route from the 28th of this month. So long the trains used to run up to Syedpur railway station.
Sources said Railway Minister Mojibul Hoque is to open the New Schedule of the trains.
The initiative has been taken as renovation, rehabilitation and replacement works of Chilahati to Syedpur rail route, a distance of 63.90 KM is nearing completion.
Sources added a private company. MATZ-TTCL-JV is doing the works since 2010, which was contracted at Tk 1.4360 billion for the entire works. The works include renovation of all the eight railway station of the rail route, replacement of railway tracks, infrastructure of Chilahati railway station such as passenger shades, platform, constructions of cleaning and washing shades, installation of deep tubewell, overhead water tank and so on. The infrastructures that are build in Chilahati railway station is similar to that of a railway junction.
