Interest-free loan distributed in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Sept 26 (BSS): Sadullapur Upazila Relief and Rehabilitation Office (URRO) distributed interest-free loan among middle class and low-income group people of Faridpur union of the upazila Monday under Risk Reduction Programme.
The aim of the loan distribution was to involve them with income generating activities so that they could change their fate and become self-reliant.
A total of Tk .53 million (5.36 lakh) was distributed among 81 people who do not to get relief from the government and non government organizations, office sources said.
The loan recovery activities would start after six months and be realized within next two years in installments with 5.0 per cent service charge.
UNO of Sadullapur Upazila M. Farid Uddin Ahmed distributed the cheques for the money among the beneficiaries at a simple function Monday as chief guest.
Upazila Project Implementation Officer Kamrul Ahsan and chairman of the union parishad Khademul Islam Khadi were present on the occasion.
