International Day Against Drug Abuse observed in dists

BRAHMANBARIA, June 27: A rally and a discussion meeting was held observing the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking  sponsored by Brahmanbaria district administration and Haor Infrastructure and Livelihood Improvement Project (HILIP) under Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED) to create public awareness on drug preventing in a befitting manner in the district town on Friday.
District government and non government officials brought out a rally and paraded through the streets in the morning drawing attention of a huge spectators gathered on the waysides.
The rally started from Poura Mukta Manch and ended at the The Ostad Alauddin Sangitangan. Students, teachers, NGO workers, members of civil society, political activists, journalists of print and electronic media, district and police administration and the mass people attended the rally.
A colourful Anti-drug rally was held headed by the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Brahmanbaria Dr Mosharrof Hossain, Additional Police Super MA Masud, HILIP-LGED District Monitoring & Evaluation officer Md Harunur Rashid Bhuiyan and district administration and HILIP-LGED officials.

Our Correspondent in Magura reports: International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was observed in Magura on Friday. Non government organisation Rova Foundation took different programmes to observe the day.
It brought out a rally in the morning. A discussion meeting  was also held at their office with Rova executive director Kazi Kamruzzaman in the chair. The programmes ended with oath taking by 200 youths saying 'no to drug.'
