International hybrid confce ends at DU

A two-day international hybrid conference on 'Post-COVID Japan: Economy, Politics, Society, Culture and Literature' ended at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University (DU) on Saturday.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman on Friday inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. The Department of Japanese Studies organized the event.
Chairman of Department of Japanese Studies Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun presided over the conference while Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh Ito Naoki addressed it as the special guest.
Director General of Japan Foundation, India Koji Sato and Dean of Faculty of Social Science of DU Prof. Dr. Zia Rahman, Founder Chairman of Department of Japanese Studies Prof. Dr. Abul Barkat also spoke on the occasion.
Associate Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam delivered welcome address. Assistant Professor Shiblee Noman conducted the programme.
VC Akhtaruzzaman thanked the organizers for arranging the conference on 'Post-COVID Japan: Economy, Politics, Society, Culture and Literature'.
This conference will play an effective role in formulating policy to overcome post-COVID challenges in Bangladesh. Terming Japan as one of the largest development partners of Bangladesh, he said the friendly-relationship between the two countries has been prevailing for a long time. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening the academic and cultural relationship between these two countries.
It may be mentioned that academicians and researchers from 15 countries including USA, Japan, China, India, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, South Africa, Uganda, Brazil and Palestine participated in the conference.
