Internet subscribers rise by 1.8m in April

Bangladesh recorded a fresh rise in both broadband and mobile internet subscribers in April 2026, driven by growing demand for data services and wider digital connectivity across the country.
According to the latest data, the total number of internet subscribers reached 131.42 million in April, up from 129.62 million in March, registering an increase of 1.8 million users in a month.
The number of mobile internet subscribers climbed to 116.47 million in April from 114.85 million in March, while subscribers of ISP and PSTN broadband services increased to 14.95 million from 14.77 million during the same period.
Meanwhile, the country's total mobile phone subscribers also rose in April to 187.07 million, compared with 186.06 million in March.
Among the operators, Grameenphone maintained its market leadership with 84.96 million subscribers at the end of April, up from 84.48 million a month earlier.
Robi Axiata increased its subscriber base to 57.80 million from 57.39 million, while Banglalink saw its subscribers rise to 37.49 million from 37.37 million.
State-owned operator Teletalk maintained 6.82 million subscribers during the period.
However, despite the monthly increase, internet and mobile subscriber numbers remain below the peak levels recorded in mid-2025.
