Monday, 7 April 2014
Interns at Rangpur Medical College Hospital continued their indefinite work abstention for the second day on Monday protesting the assault of two of their fellows. Hospital sources said the interns took out a procession which paraded the main streets on the campus demanding the arrest of the attackers and setting up a permanent police camp on the campus. Later, they lay siege to the office of deputy director Dr Abdus Salam for an hour from 12 noon and gave him a memorandum containing their demands. They also held a rally on the campus from where they threatened to continue the strike until their demands are met, according to a news agency.
