ACC submits report to HC
Interpol seeks arrest warrant against PK Halder
FE REPORT | Thursday, 3 December 2020
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) submitted a report to the High Court on Wednesday, saying that the Interpol, an international police organisation, has sought some information about Proshanta Kumar Halder, also known as PK Halder, and an arrest warrant against him.
In the report, the ACC said it made a request to the Interpol through the home ministry to bring back PK Halder to the country. In reply, the Interpol sought some information and an arrest warrant against him.
But no arrest warrant has yet been issued from any court in the country against PK Halder who allegedly swindled a number of banks and financial institutions out of billions and fled the country several months ago, the report said.
The report further stated that the ACC on September 15 this year filed applications in the courts of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge and Senior Special Judge for issuing arrest warrant, which are now under process.
