INTEXPO begins in city

A two-day exhibition of Indian Man Made Textile-INTEXPO Bangladesh, 2014 began at Grand Ball Room of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city Monday. The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) of India in association with High Commission of India, Dhaka are organising the event. Mirza Azam, MP, State Minister for Textile and Jute, Govt. of Bangladesh formally inaugurated the exhibition today morning. The ceremony was also attended by Sandeep Chakravorty, Deputy High Commissioner of India, Alhaj Md. Harun-Ur-Rashid, Acting President of FBCCI, Md. Shahidullah Azim, Acting President of BGMEA, Mohammad Ali, President India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce of Industry, Sanjeeb Saran, Convener, V. Anil Kumar, Executive Director of SRTEPC. At the exhibition, 22 leading Indian manufacturing / exporting companies are displaying their latest range of Man Made Textile items, such as suitings, shirtings, dress materials, embroidered fabrics, high fashion fabrics, furnishings, home textiles, made-ups like scarfs, stoles, shawls, laces, synthetic and blended yarns etc. under one roof. The show is intended to provide a unique opportunity to the textile and garment business community of Bangladesh to see the quality and range of Indian fabrics and yarns, for establishing personal contacts for mutually beneficial business tie ups, including possibility of having long term venture alliances with their Indian counterparts. The aim of the Indian Textile Exhibition is to strengthen the trade ties between the two countries, particularly in the fastest growing man-made textiles. Mutual collaboration between both countries can help achieve greater success in textiles and garments sector in the coming years, the organisers hope. The Intexpo will remain open from 10am to 7pm on both the days. There will be arrangements for interested Bangladesh Businessmen to hold B2B meetings with their Indian counterpart.
