Int\\\'l confce on climate change held at DUET in Gazipur

GAZIPUR, Apr 9: A three-day international conference on Climate Change in Relation to Water and Environment was held at the Shahid Ahsan Ullah Master auditorium of Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) in Gazipur on Thursday.
Civil engineering department of DUET organised the conference under the project of Netherlands' initiatives for capacity development in higher education.
Vice Chancellor of DUET professor Dr. Mohammed Alauddin presided over the conference while secretary of education ministry Mohammed Nazrul Islam Khan inaugurated the conference as the chief guest.
Professor of school of civil and environmental engineering department of Australian University of New Southwales Dr. Ashish Shorma and professor of Netherlands's Wageningen University research centre Edie Moor jointly presented the keynote paper.
Director of International Centre for Climate Change and Development of IUB, Bangladesh Dr. Salimul Haque was the special guest.
Among others, president of the organising committee Dr. Mohammed Shawkat Osman, member secretary Dr. S.M. Atikul Islam, vice president professor Dr. Gonesh Chandra Shaha and departmental head of civil engineering department of DUET Dr. Mohammed Khasru were present on the occasion.
Scientists from the country and abroad, Deans of different faculties of DUET, head of departments, directors, teachers and officials were present in the conference.
