Int\\\'l Financial Corporation Bill 2015 scrutinised

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance Ministry has scrutinised the International Financial Corporation Bill, 2015. Examining the bill thoroughly, the parliamentary body also recommended placing its report at the House after making some corrections in the bill, said a Parliament Secretariat handout. The committee came up with recommendation at its 9th meeting held on Wednesday at the Jatiya Sangsad with its chairman Dr Abdur Razzak in the chair. The bill was placed in the JS on June 17 last seeking to scrap the 'International Finance Corporation Ordinance, 1976' and create greater scope for the IFC to play a role in developing the country’s private sector,  legitimise its previous activities and seeking continuation of the organisation in the country. Committee members Finance Minister AMA Muhith, State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan, Abdul Wadud, Farhad Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman Chowdhury, Shawkat Chowdhury and Akhtar Jahan attended the meeting. The Governor of Bangladesh Bank, the Senior Secretary of Finance Division, the Senior Secretary of Economic Relations Division, the Secretary of the Bank and Financial Institutions Division and the acting chairman of Security Exchange Commission were, among others, present, according to a news agency.
