The 18th edition of the Bangladesh International Plastic, Packaging and Printing Industrial Fair-2026 kicked off at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Organised jointly by the Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA) and Yorkers Trade and Marketing Service Co Ltd (Hong Kong), the fair will run until January 31.
More than 390 international brands from 18 countries are participating in the event, which features over 800 stalls showcasing a wide range of products and innovations in the plastic, packaging and printing sectors.
Addressing the opening ceremony, BPGMEA President Shamim Ahmed said the plastic, packaging and printing industries have become integral to Bangladesh's industrialisation, export growth and overall economic development.
He noted that sectors like ready-made garments, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and e-commerce are heavily reliant on the plastic, packaging and printing industries.
The fair will serve as a comprehensive platform for technology transfer, innovation, and investment opportunities, Ahmed said.
The theme of this year's event is 'Plastic uses in agriculture'.
The exhibition is showcasing modern machinery, advanced technologies, and eco-friendly production solutions from both local and international exhibitors. It is expected to open new opportunities for business networking and collaboration.
The exhibition highlights innovations in plastic, packaging, and printing, with a special emphasis on the use of plastics in agriculture.
It serves as an international platform for technology exchange, aiming to strengthen the "Made in Bangladesh" brand and support local industry growth.
