Int'l textile, garment fair kicks off Feb 2

A four-day international textile and garment machinery exhibition will begin at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city on February 2.
Most modern garment and textile machinery will be put on display at the fair.
"The exposition will showcase technology and solutions to the sector in productivity, skill development and value addition, Abdul Hye Sarker, president of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) told the FE.
The country's entrepreneurs, especially the owners of small and medium apparel units, will have an opportunity to procure machinery at the fair, he said.
The seven-year old fair in Bangladesh has already been regarded as the ITMA in South Asia. The ITMA is the world largest textile technology event annually held in Germany.
The event is being jointly organised by BTMA and Yorkers Trade and
Marketing Service Company of Hong Kong.
A total of 570 companies will exhibit a wide range of state-of-the-art textile and garment technologies, machinery and spares.
The organisers said the event will be a gateway to provide and create more opportunity for local exporters to come in contact or deal with related manufacturers, regional agents and wholesalers at one place.
The fair will also be a source of high quality machinery, equipment and materials, they added.
The show will exhibit subjects ranging from textile to garment, dyeing to finishing, embroidery to knitting, related processing equipment and accessories.
A total of 750 booths with world-class leading brands from Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America will gather in the one-stop selling and searching platform.
