Int'l trade fairs to boost country's export

Former director of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Syed Mosharraf Hossain has stressed the need for organising international trade fairs for boosting country's exports.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a workshop on 'Experience and Participation in International Trade Fairs' organised by the Italy-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) in the city Monday.
Mosharraf Hossain, who is also the president of Bangladesh Association of Construction Industry (BACI), highly appreciated the workshop for its importance to the economy of Bangladesh.
He expressed the hope that international trade fairs would play an important role in promoting products to buyers of different countries.
IBCCI President HM Hakim Ali presided over the workshop, said a press release.
Hakim Ali, in his speech, said export to Italy needs required measures and preparation for its development in large volume. Exhibitors must take necessary preparation in this connection, he added.
Syeda Jahanara Waheed, the key-note speaker in the workshop, presented a few major issues like response to exhibition, organisation of venue, facilities and logistics, information and networking, and problems and constraints faced by the exhibitors.
