Int'l workshop on environment held at BAU

An international workshop on Contemporary Changes in Environment and Development was held at the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology Conference Hall of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) Mymensingh recently.
Professor Dr M. A. Sattar Mandal, Vice-chancellor, BAU was present in the inaugural session as the chief Guest. Dr SM altaf Hossain, consultant, livelihood improvement of farming community in Haor area through system approach (LIFCHASA) project, and professor of the Department of Agronomy, BAU presided over the session.
Dr. Ando Kazuo, team leader, International Networking Project, Kyoto University, Japan presented the Keynote paper while welcome address has given by professor Dr. Muhammad Salim, chief organiser, workshop organising committee. The BAU VC in his speech emphasised on the organisation of quality education and research on various aspects of environmental issues both at undergraduate and post graduate level for combating natural hazards.
The two-day workshop was jointly organised by Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh and International Networking Project, Kyoto University, Japan.
