Introduce technical education

BRAC has a good number of primary schools which complete the five-year curriculum of primary education in four years. Other countries of the world have also been replicating its model.
Now, BRAC the largest NGO in the world, has established a few secondary schools across the country particularly in the rural areas. We have learnt from the media that the government incurs loss of Tk 6.0 billion yearly due to more than 5,000 excessive educational institutions across the country.
Moreover, there are more teachers compared with the number of students in many intermediate colleges. Many teachers enjoy more holidays than the government holidays and even they take one or two classes a week. Grade IX can be opened in those intermediate colleges as early as possible.
The government is going to establish 100 technical schools in some upazilas in Bangladesh. It is a good decision because technical schools are as necessary as the general schools. We also know that some other NGOs have also been serving our education sector.
We have no experience to prepare lessons using computer and have an acute shortage of computer experts. But our students of grade V can do this type of work if they receive six months' training. So, we urge the BRAC and the other NGOs to establish technical schools instead of general schools across the country and turn some general schools into technical schools.
