Inu again downplays Broadcasting Policy

Wednesday, 13 August 2014

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said Tuesday the information ministry cannot take any administrative step based on the recently-formed National Broadcasting Policy 2014, reports UNB.
Addressing a roundtable discussion, titled 'Broadcasting Policy: Challenges and Way Forward', jointly organised by the Dhaka Tribune and the Bangladesh Copyright and IP Forum at a city hotel, the minister also noted that the policy is a step towards shifting the regulatory power from the ministry to the National Broadcasting Commission to be constituted soon.
Inu said the policy will serve as a guideline and the minor confusions already detected in it can be resolved before enacting the law in this connection. "All the stakeholders will be consulted when the government will prepare the law," he added.
