Wednesday, 17 December 2014

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu has urged BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has to sever relations with militancy and communal forces for her survival in politics. ‘Khaleda Zia will remain burden in politics, if she does not sever relations with militancy and communal forces,’ he told a programme held in the city on the occasion of the Victory Day-2014. JSD General Secretary Sharif Nurul Ambia, Standing Committee Member Shirin Aktar, MP, and organising secretary Nurul Akhtar, among others, addressed the discussion. ‘The 16th December is a very significant day for Bangali nation as this is the day we achieved the ultimate victory through a nine-month long War of Liberation,’ Inu said. He said Bangladesh emerged as an independent and sovereign country in the map of the world under charismatic and courageous leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. After the assassination of Bangabandhu in 1975, General Ziaur Rahman emerged a leader of the anti-liberation forces as he awarded war criminals by including them in his cabinet as well as giving opportunity of politics,’ Inu alleged. Subsequently, Khaleda Zia also followed the same path aiming to rehabilitee war criminals in the country, he added, according to a news agency.
