Investment-friendly tax structure in next budget stressed

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Tuesday said emphasis will be given on an industry-and investment-friendly tax structure in the upcoming budget to encourage local industrial production. He made the remarks while talking to reporters after a meeting with the leaders of Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) at his office. Amu said effective steps will be taken after discussions with the stakeholders concerned to resolve various problems of the entrepreneurs. He also said the government will provide its all-out cooperation to help flourish the local industry in a bid to build an industry-based economy. The minister asked the entrepreneurs to come up with a specific proposal to resolve their problems, according to a news agency.
