Investors' awareness a cornerstone of growing securities market: DSE

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) sees investors' awareness as a cornerstone of the growing securities market in the country.
"We feel that awareness is a very important segment of the growing stock market operation and that's why we always ask the investors to make their investment decision based on company fundamentals, price level and disclosed information avoiding rumour-based speculations," the DSE chief executive officer Prof. Salahuddin Ahmed Khan said in an investors' awareness programme in Chittagong Wednesday.
SEC Member Mansur Alam, DSE Chief Operating Officer AFM Shariful Islam also spoke in the programme attended by a large number of investors, said a press release issued from the port city.
Mansur Alam said investors should remain alert on the company fundamentals ahead of investing.
"There should be proper dissemination of information on the company fundamentals and investors should learn different aspects of the stock market operation and market trends as well," he added.
He said the investors should also learn the mechanism on both risks and profits of the stock market and DSE has a big role to aware the investors.
The DSE CEO said the DSE sees the market in a better future outlook when a good number of big companies are set to float shares.
