BOOSTING JAPAN-BD TRADE

Invitation-only online platform launched

FE REPORT | Friday, 20 June 2025

The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) has launched a new online platform, "Japan Street," to help boost trade between Japan and Bangladesh.
Japan Street is a special, invitation-only website that connects international buyers with a wide range of Japanese products.
For the first time, Bangladeshi businesses will be able to use the platform to browse product catalogs, check detailed information, and set up online meetings directly with Japanese suppliers, says a JETRO press release.
To introduce the platform, JETRO and the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI) held a launching event at a city hotel on Wednesday.
At the event, JBCCI President Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan (Jun), Joint Secretary Yuji Ando, and JETRO's Bangladesh Representative Kazuaki Kataoka shared how the platform has already helped boost trade between Japan and other ASEAN countries.
They expressed hope that it will do the same for Bangladesh by making it easier for local businesses to connect with Japanese companies.
