IPO volumes in Asia-Pacific down 86pc

MUMBAI, Jan 9 (Business Standard): Equity capital market (ECM) volumes for the Asia-Pacific region (excluding Japan) stood at $163 million for the week commencing on January 2, down as much as 86 per cent over the previous week, according to Dealogic.
The transactions generated $8 million in revenue during the week.
ECM refers to the aggregate of initial public offerings and follow-on offers in the region.
The largest ECM transaction during the week under review was that of Xizang Haisco Pharmaceutical Group's $127m IPO via CITIC Securities.
The mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions volume summed up to as much as $1.7 billion, of which four deals were valued over $50 million in size.
