Ireland tour to be helpful for Tigers: Mithun

Thursday, 28 March 2019

Before heading to England and Wales for the World Cup, Bangladesh national cricket team will participate in a tri-series in Ireland against the hosts and West Indies, reports UNB.
Middle-order batsman Mohammad Mithun insisted on Wednesday that the Ireland tour will be a great opportunity for the Tigers to adopt the condition in the host countries.
"As I know, the condition of Ireland is familiar to that of England. So, the matches in Ireland will be very helpful for us. West Indies will also take part in the series along with Ireland. Both of them are strong. I think we will have a great chance there to adapt the condition," Mithun told media on Wednesday at Shre-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city.
After coming home from New Zealand, Mithun played two matches in the ongoing Dhaka Premeir Division Cricket League (DPDCL) for the defending champions Abahani Limited, but left the rest matches due to a hamstring injury that he had sustained during the series there.
In the ODI series against New Zealand, Mithun struck two back-to-back fifties, but failed to continue golden run later.
"It was challenging to score in the wickets of New Zealand. We went there right after the Bangladesh Premeir League. The main challenge was to adapt to the condition." Mithun said.
