Irregularities have been alleged in the selection process of scholarship candidates at Dhaka University.
Sources said the Association of Commonwealth Universities recently invited two candidates from the officials of DU for higher education.
As per the procedure, the registrar's office is supposed to issue a circular in this respect at the direction of the Vice-Chancellor for naming two eligible candidates for the scholarships.
But infringing the existing rules, university's assistant registrar Munshi Shamsuddin Liton and the officer of the exam control office Sanaullah were clandestinely selected without issuing any advertisement for the same and their selection was later approved by the VC by concealing actual information.
The malpractice has created much sensation among other qualified scholarship seekers and officials of DU administrative building.
